The board of Logan County United Way wanted to do something special this fall and found just the thing at the Mulhall-Orlando second Grade Classroom of Julie Wiss.

Board President Steve Gentling noted, “The Board identifies “give back to the community” projects each year,  going above and beyond the annual fundraiser campaign. In years past we have accomplished special “clean up and fix up” programs and in recent years we have concentrated on ways to help the children in the school systems. We have clipped and organized coupons, donated time for special reading sessions with elementary classes and this year provided school supplies for one classroom at the Mulhall-Orlando school. It’s just something extra that the Board wants to do.”

Julie Wiss noted, “Our community is blessed to be supported by this great board and the United Way organization. As I unpacked all the supplies the board came with, I realized that there was much more than I needed for my classroom so these supplies will also cover the speech and special education classes and other low income families. What a great gift from the United Way Board.”
