Coyle School’s Foundation is hosting a multitude of upcoming events including the Stinger 5k, softball, corn hole and volleyball tournaments, a raffle and BBQ dinner and pie auction.
“All events we host benefits Coyle Public School through scholarships or grants to teachers,” said Julie Weathers, Coyle School Foundation board member.
The Stinger 5k is set for Saturday, September 21 at 9 a.m. at the new gym in Coyle. Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for students. Participants can register at signmeup.com/site/reg/register.aspx?fid=SS2VYG7. Register before Friday, September 6 to guarantee a shirt. After the 5k, stay for the softball tournament on September 21. The tournament begins at 11 a.m. with food trucks and a concession stand. If you are interested in forming a team or would like to purchase raffle tickets for the pig raffle, email Julie Weathers at [email protected]. The fee for the softball tournament is $100 per team entry or $10 per player. Raffle tickets for an entire pig are $5 for 1 ticket or $25 for 6 tickets. The Great Pig Raffle will be drawn at the Stinger 5k, you do not have to be present to win.
“We are hoping for a great turnout this year to provide more grants to our local teacher,” Weathers said. “We have a great time at these events and they are open to everyone, not just Coyle alumni.”
On Saturday, October 12 the Coyle School Foundation will host a corn hole tournament at 11 a.m., with $10 per two-person teams. The volleyball tournament will begin at 2 p.m. with $60 per team up to 8 players. At 3 p.m., the school reunion starts, followed by the BBQ dinner and pie auction at 5: 30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Dinner will be $6 per person.
