Vacant home catches fire on Seward Road

A vacant home was filled with smoke on Wednesday evening. Thanks to a nearby neighbor the home was spared from going completely up in flames.

The Guthrie, Woodcrest and Oak Cliff fire departments responded to a home in the 600 block of W. Seward just after 8 p.m. for a structure fire.

A next door neighbor says she heard a window break and moments later saw flames blowing out the window.

Despite heavy smoke, flames were not seen from the exterior as firefighters arrived to the home.

It was unclear was started the fire at the scene.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.
