An early morning accident in southern Logan County sent one woman to the hospital. Troopers say a teen driver failed to yield.
The accident occurred just after midnight on Sunday at the intersection of Broadway Ave. and Simmons Road.
A 17-year-old driver, whose name is not being released, was driving a 2004 Nissan Titan westbound on Simmons Road when they failed to yield at a stop sign and crashing into a 2006 Nissan Sentra.
The impact caused both vehicles to deploy their airbags.
A 72-year-old Edmond driver was northbound on Broadway when her vehicle was struck, according to a crash report.
Gloria Melendez was transported from the scene by EMSA and taken to Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was admitted in good condition with leg injuries.
The teen was not injured.
Seat belts were worn in both vehicles.
Assisting the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was EMSA, Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Oak Cliff Fire Department.
