Veterans Day parade, ceremony set for Friday morning

The Guthrie Veterans Day Parade is on Friday, November 10. This annual event, hosted by the American Legion and City of Guthrie, is open to the public and we encourage your attendance.

The ‘89er Battalion, the GHS Marching Band, and the GHS Choir are proud to help recognize our Veterans. The start of the parade will begin at 10:20 a.m. at the Golden Age Nursing Home on Oklahoma Ave., where we will pay respect to the veterans in the home. They will then march along Oklahoma Ave. to Honor Park at the corner of Harrison Ave and 2d Street.

Events at Honor Park, which start at approximately 10:30, include the presentation of Colors, the playing of the National Anthem, remarks by the invited guest, and then the singing of the service medley by the GHS Choir.

The ceremony will conclude at 11 a.m. with the playing of TAPS.

In case of inclement weather, the event will move to the Guthrie High School Gym.
