Video: Homeowner escapes home full of smoke, flames

A Guthrie home is a total loss following an early morning fire.

The homeowner at 2606 Connie Lane says a faulty electrical outlet in the garage may have been the cause for the smoke and flames to over take his home.

The Guthrie Fire Department and Guthrie Police Department responded to the home at 1:26 a.m. and arrived to find the structure and a vehicle fully-involved.

Firefighters were able to make a quick knock down of the fire and were able to save some valuables on the home’s south side.

The homeowner says he went inside the garage to inspect the attic and when he lowered the door he saw the heavy flames.

Sooner Volunteer Fire Department and Oak Cliff Fire Department assisted Guthrie firefighters with the blaze.

They remained on the scene until after 4 a.m.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.
