Despite cooler temperatures and falling rain, several hundred people made their way to Mineral Wells Park for the Rescue Me 5K Run and 2-mile Walk for Life to help benefit Crossroads Clinic.

A goal was set at $40,000 for the clinic, a not-for-profit Crisis Pregnancy Center, was set through registrations, donations and sponsorships. Emcee Ed Murray proudly announced the goal was exceeded.
A son and mother was in a tight race for the top individual fundraiser. The two combined to raise over $9,000 with mom coming out on top and winning an iPad. Everyone who raise $500 won an iPod shuffle and those reaching $1,000 in the fundraiser each received an iPod nano.
Bible Baptist Church claimed the top fundraising team.
A $100 gift certificate to Dick’s Sporting Goods was awarded to the first overall male and female finisher in the 5k race. Medals were also given to the top three in each age group.
Along with the race and walk, several took part in live music with the Russell Family, face painting, balloon animals, a bounce house, hot dogs, chips and drinks.
Crossroads Clinic is a not-for-profit Crisis Pregnancy Center whose comprehensive, free services include pregnancy tests, options counseling, ultrasound to diagnose pregnancy, STI/STD Testing and Treatment, post-abortion counseling and abstinence education.
