Watch: Bluejays return to Jelsma Stadium looking for third straight win against Noble

The Guthrie Bluejays return to Jelsma Stadium Friday night looking to extend their winning streak and strengthen their position in the Class 5A District 1 playoff race when they host the Noble Bears.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Guthrie (4-3 overall, 2-1 district) enters the matchup riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Midwest City 49-20 and Lawton 30-6. The victories have helped the Bluejays recover from a 0-2 start to the season and move into second place in the district standings.

Head coach Kelly Beeby’s squad has won four of its last five games, with the only setback during that stretch coming in a narrow 17-16 road loss to undefeated and top-ranked Carl Albert.

The Bluejays have shown significant improvement on both sides of the football. Guthrie has scored 79 points over its last two games while allowing just 26, including a strong defensive performance against Lawton.

Friday’s opponent, Noble, enters at 3-5 overall and 2-2 in district play. The Bears are fighting to improve their position in a competitive district race and will look to challenge Guthrie on its home field.

With Carl Albert leading the district standings, Guthrie has an opportunity to maintain control of second place and take another important step toward securing a favorable playoff position.

Friday also begins the final three-game stretch of the regular season for the Bluejays. Following the Noble matchup, Guthrie will travel to Durant on October 30 before returning home to face Duncan on November 6.

For Guthrie, the objective Friday night is straightforward: protect the home field, continue building momentum, and move one step closer to the postseason.

Fans unable to attend can watch the game live on GNP TV through Guthrie News Page.

The pregame show begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.
