The Guthrie Bluejays return to the road Friday night as they travel to Bethany for their final tune-up before the schedule turns toward district play.
Guthrie and Bethany will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday in a non-district matchup.
The Bluejays enter Week 3 looking to break into the win column after a challenging start to the 2026 season. Guthrie opened the year with a 42-7 road loss at Tuttle before returning home last week and falling 38-10 to Elgin.
Now, head coach Kelly Beeby and the Bluejays will look to put together a more complete performance against the Bronchos.
Senior quarterback Daelon Rice leads a Guthrie offense looking to find its rhythm before district play begins. The Bluejays have several experienced players on both sides of the football and will look to use Friday night’s matchup as an opportunity to build momentum heading into an important stretch of the schedule.
Bethany is a familiar opponent after playing Elgin to open its season. The Bronchos fell 42-0 to the Owls, setting up a Friday night matchup between two teams looking to get things moving in the right direction.
For Guthrie, the trip to Bethany begins an important two-week stretch before district play. The Bluejays will return to Jelsma Stadium on Sept. 18 to host Blanchard for Homecoming before traveling to perennial Class 5A power Carl Albert on Sept. 25 for the district opener.
Fans unable to make the trip to Bethany can watch the game live on GNP TV.
The broadcast begins with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m., followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.
