The Guthrie Special Olympians got a huge sendoff Wednesday morning as they travel to Stillwater for the Special Olympics.
The athletes were greeted outside the Guthrie High School entrance with band and cheer teams, students, teachers, administrators, parents and community members.
They all cheered as the athletes stepped on the bus and drove past Fogarty Elementary and Central Elementary as school children lined up to wave and cheer as the bus drove by their school.
The Special Jays were escorted by the Guthrie Police Department and Territorial Riders.
In Stillwater, there is expected to be 28,000 athletes, 2,500 parents, coaches and chaperones for the annual event.
Best of luck Jays.
