Watch: Jays host Northwest Classen for Homecoming; championship teams to be honored

The Guthrie Bluejays knew the first five weeks of the season was going to be challenge. And it was. Now, the Jays has a favorable schedule for the remainder of the season to begin building confidence and wins.

The Jays are hosting Northwest Classen for Homecoming 2017. Both teams share 1-4 records and 0-2 district records.

The game can be heard on Hot 93.7 FM, online at Guthrie News Page, Guthrie Sports Page and the live video feed below (www.youtube.com/GuthrieNews).

Guthrie will be favorites on paper in the coming weeks and are now contending for the third playoff spot with likely Woodward and Lawton Ike.

The Knights have lost four straight games after winning the first game of the season against SeeWorth Academy. The Knights have dropped games to Centennial, Tulsa Hale, Piedmont and Woodward.

In the four losses, Northwest has been outscored 147-19.

The atmosphere should be exciting with the Homecoming crowd and the hall of fame inductions, including the 2002 state championship football team. In addition, the 2007 football state championship team will be honored for the 10-year anniversary of their state championship.
