Due to ongoing stadium construction at C.B. Speegle Stadium, Guthrie and Southeast have moved their game up one day and to another location when they meet in week eight of the high school football season.
The Jays and Spartans will now play on Thursday, Oct. 23 at Douglass’ Moses F. Miller Stadium. Game time remains at 7 p.m.
Oklahoma City Public Schools announced a $19 million project to renovate Taft Stadium and Speegle, stadiums that once served as cathedrals of high school football in Oklahoma City but have long since reached a state of disrepair.
The move will now give Guthrie an extra day to prepare for Carl Albert in week nine.
