Updated on March 20, 2025 — The Oklahoma Forestry Service reports that the wildfires in Logan County are now 50% contained, with an estimated 33,410 acres burned.
Officials remain optimistic that Thursday’s forecasted light winds could provide more favorable conditions for firefighting efforts. Crews continue to work on containment lines, monitor hot spots, and prevent flare-ups.
Emergency responders urge residents to remain cautious and stay informed as containment efforts progress.
Logan County Emergency Management, Oklahoma Emergency Management, FEMA, and the Small Business Administration have been surveying the widespread wildfire damage over the past two days.
Officials have identified 113 homes destroyed as the fire continues to burn across more than 30,000 acres.
Despite 70-80 mph winds fueling the flames, officials are relieved that no fatalities have been reported in Logan County. However, statewide, four deaths have been attributed to wildfires, and thoughts are with those affected.
Emergency crews are working tirelessly, rotating in 12-hour shifts to monitor flare-ups and contain the fire, which remains only 25% controlled as of Tuesday morning. Authorities continue to send out wireless emergency alerts to ensure residents have ample time to evacuate when necessary.
Logan County Emergency Manager Steven Haga emphasized the ongoing collaborative efforts of fire departments, law enforcement, and emergency responders to protect the community.
