Troopers say Dorian Yearby, 2o, of Desoto, Tx. was driving a 2013 Dodge Avenger northbound on Old Highway 33 when he failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the intersection turning west onto Highway 33.

The Avenger was struck by the semi-truck on the driver’s side rear causing the truck to depart the roadway to the left and overturn one and three-quarters times before coming to a rest on the driver’s side.

The eastbound lanes were shut down for three hours and 50 minutes before being reopened at 11:30 a.m. Traffic was diverted onto Indian Meridian road while crews worked to clear the highway.

Despite the truck laying on its side, the stored oil was kept to a minimum from leaking out onto the roadway and hazmat crews were not needed.

The driver of the truck, Gerald Snell, 29, of Oklahoma City was airlifted with injuries to his hip and ribs along with minor burns. He was admitted in fair condition.

Yearby and his passenger Davy King, 27, of Kansas City, MO. was transported non-emergency by Guthrie EMS to Mercy Hospital Logan County. They were treated and released.
