Accident prone area claims another wreck on S. Division

Emergency crews responded to a well-known intersection on Tuesday morning for a two-vehicle accident.

At 8 a.m. Guthrie police and firefighters responded to the entrance of Savannah House and Pleasant Hill Apartments on S. Division.

Witnesses say a black Chrysler 300 was at a complete stop in the inside lane waiting to make a left turn into the apartment complex. That’s when a Chevrolet pickup, also in the southbound inside lane, smashed into the back of the Chrysler.

The same witnesses  said they never saw brake lights from the pickup in  the 45 mph speed zone.

The impact of the crash sent the Chrysler spinning and after coming to a stop was in the outside, northbound lane. The truck eventually came to a stop on S. Division several yards from the impact area.

One driver was transported to OU Medical Center and the other was taken to Mercy Logan County.

The roadway was completely re-opened at 8:35 a.m.
