Guthrie Public Schools recognized their Support and Certified Employees of the Month for January 2020.
Tammy Adams, a fifth grade teacher at Guthrie Upper Elementary School, was nominated and selected as the Certified Employee of the Month, while Harley Graves, a custodian at Guthrie High School, was named the Support Staff Employee of the Month.
Adams (pictured left above) immediately earned the respect of fellow teacher Kendra McNew, who made the nomination.
“I cannot imagine this year without Tammy,” McNew said. “She has made me feel welcomed on several occassions and does her utmost to make sure spirits stay lifted.”
McNew added Adams is the hardest working teacher she knows.
“Tammy makes sure other teachers are taken care of in numerous ways. From helping with lesson planning, tips on classroom management and double checking on her coworkers well being.”
Tristin Volkert nomiated Graves for going above and beyond.
“He makes sure the bathroom for our special education children is taken care of and clean at all times,” Volkert said of Graves.
The Guthrie Lions Club presented a plaque to the recipients and Sonic at I-35 and Highway 33 donated a $25 Sonic gift card.
