American Legion honors over 1000 years of service

At noon on Saturday, June 23rd, the American Legion Lebron Post 58 will honor 19 members who collectively account for 1010 YEARS of service as American Legion members.

American Legion Post Commander, Albert Hawkes, presents a certificate to Kenneth Mitchell reflecting 62 years of service to the American Legion.

Post Commander Albert Hawkes noted, “Imagine having 50 years of consecutive service to any organization!  These 17 men have between 51 and 66 years of service to this Post and we are going to recognize and celebrate their achievement by this luncheon.  Not only did these men serve their country in uniform, but they continued to serve their country and their community as members of the American Legion LeBron Post 58”.

The 19 men and the number of years of service include:  Bion Action (65); Jack Andrews (52);  Charles Austin (57); Ralph Blair (59); R.G. Cox (58); Gerald Ekis (62); Kenneth English (66); Gerald Jobe (62); Kenneth McEwen (61); Kenneth Mitchell (62); W.E Reed (54);  Jake Ruhl (60); Francis Sanabria (59); Cecil Snow (58); Archie Starks (66); Richard Walter (57); Dale Yost (53)

Family and friends are invited to join in the celebration at the Lebron Post in Guthrie.  Donations to help cover the luncheon expenses will be accepted at the door.  In order to insure sufficient food for all in attendance if you are going to attend please call the Post, 282-2589.  A short presentation will accompany the lunch.
