There have been plenty of basketball accolades this postseason for Guthrie senior Anjewl Murillo, but perhaps the biggest was her signing to play college basketball.
Earlier this month Murillo, signed with Seminole State in a signing ceremony inside the Guthrie High School gymnasium.
“She’s an extremely hard worker. She deserves every bit of this,” head coach Breck Clark said of her all-star player.
Murillo averaged nearly 18 points, along with 6.1 rebounds, per game and nearly landed the Lady Jays in the state tournament.
The 5’8 combo guard was named the Suburban Conference Player of the Year, Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team, Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State, and the Guthrie Lady Jays Award (which goes to the team’s most valuable player).
