Annabella Aitken wins State FFA Agricultural Policy Speech Contest

STILLWATER, Okla. — Annabella Aitken of the Guthrie FFA Chapter won first place in the agricultural policy division of the state FFA speech contest during the 2023 Oklahoma FFA Interscholastics on April 28.

The agricultural policy division allows FFA members to give a six- to eight-minute prepared speech about topics such as domestic farm issues, international trade, rural economic development, politics, animal rights, law, subsidies, and price supports.

In addition, Annabella was your State Runner Up in the Plant Science division for the Oklahoma FFA Public Speaking event.  The Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture hosts the State FFA Interscholastics each April. Trophies and medals are sponsored by Farm Credit Associations of Oklahoma and Marathon Oil Co.

FFA is an integral part of the Agricultural Education division in the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education system. With more than 29,000 members and 366 chapters, the Oklahoma FFA Association is the fifth-largest state FFA association.
