The Annual Used Book Sale of the Friends of the Guthrie Public Library will be on Saturday, Jan. 19. As in past years, the sale will be in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Presbyterian Church, located at 102 E. Noble, in Guthrie. The sale hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The annual meeting of the Friends will be on Friday, January 18, at the Fellowship Hall, at 7 p.m., with the members only pre-sale immediately following.
The Used Book Sale is the main source of funding for the Friends, with the proceeds going to support the Guthrie Public Library for more details at (405) 282-0050.
They must be running out of books to sell. The last time I was in the libary it was a ghost of itself in terms of books. There used to be an extensive World War II section and i could only find a couple of books on the subject now. The Non-fiction section itself had shrunk to fraction of its size of just a few years ago. I would guess there was half the number of books left in the whole libary. It is a joke!!!!
