Arrest made in Guthrie death; investigators needing help from public

Darion Cook was arrested in the connection of a Guthrie death.

Investigators have made an arrest after a man was found dead inside a Guthrie home on Saturday afternoon. Now, investigators are asking for help from the public.

The Guthrie Police Department and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations were called to 1423 E. Harrison, at the intersection of Pine and Harrison, at around 3 p.m. where they found a person dead inside the home.

Two people were taken by police for questioning. Afterwards, an arrest was made.

Investigators arrested Darion Markell Cook, 27, who goes by the alias Vegas. Cook was booked into the Logan County jail on a complaint of first degree murder.

The victim was found with trauma to the head. The medical examiner’s office will determine the victim’s cause of death.

Authorities tell Guthrie News Page the investigation is ongoing and that they are looking for anyone who may have had contact with Cook after midnight on June 6. OSBI is encouraging them to call the Guthrie Police Department at 405-282-3535.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time until authorities can make a positive identification through fingerprints. Updated: Candlelight vigil set this evening for victim killed over the weekend
