BlueJay golfers finish their season at state

Brent Jenkins, Brayden Berryman and Ethan Delno finished their final round of the season at the 5A state tournament on Tuesday.

Jenkins, a junior, finished with an 80 after opening with an 84 and 77 on day one for the low score for a Guthrie golfer.

Ardmore’s Jacob Oaks won on the first playoff hole and finished with a three-round score of 221.

Berryman finished with a 83 for a final score of 250 and Delno rounded up a 97 and a 279 score.

Day One at State

A trio of Guthrie golfers made their way to southeastern Oklahoma for the first round of the Class 5A golf state tournament at Chickasha Pointe.

Brent Jenkins was the low man for the Jays with a two-round score of 161. The junior shot an opening score of 84, but took seven shots off his second round for a 77.

Sophomore Brayden Berryman managed a 84 and an 83 in his two rounds while senior Ethan Delno scored a 93 and 89 on the golf course located in Kingston.

The day one leader is El Reno’s Logan Gray with back-to-back rounds of 74.
