BOCC lifts county burn ban

The Logan County Board of County Commissioners lifted the burn ban Monday morning.

With a 3-0 vote, the ban takes in effect immediately. However, a burn ban remains in effect within the city limits of Guthrie.

The commissioners will revisit the burn ban at their Feb. 15 meeting.

The BOCC first implemented the ban on Dec. 30 and extended the ban on Jan. 14 and Jan. 28.

Despite the ban, Logan County remains in a severe drought, according to Oklahoma Forestry Services.

The latest ban was extended to Feb. 11 until Monday’s emergency meeting.
