BUG program delivers bicycles to Fogarty students

The Kiwanis Club helped entice students at Fogarty Elementary to bring up their grades this final semester through the BUG program. For their efforts two boys and two girls were rewarded for their effort in the classroom with a shiny new bicycle.

Bring Up Grades (BUG) is a program designed to provide recognition to students who raise their grades into an acceptable range and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next.

The program was once again sponsored through the Kiwanis Club and were represented by Jerry Gammill, Freddy Lomax and Next Cornwell.

When a teacher recognizes a student for improvements in their grades and actions, that student has their name put into a decorative box. Students can earn multiple chances with continued improvement.

Riding away with bicycles were Tori Presnall, Dalee Wensel, Mason Boren and Robert Crouch.

In addition, Carly Allie and Tagen Barton tickets were drawn and each received a brand new soccer ball.
