The Guthrie High School baseball team will be led by Casey Porter. The announcement came at the Board of Education regular scheduled meeting on Monday evening.
Porter, a Oklahoma State University alum, has been with the Guthrie school district and the BlueJay baseball program for now 19 years.
Porter, who also serves as a member of the Guthrie Radio team, will serve as the interim head coach and replaces Hall of Fame coach Jon Chappell, who has taken over as the district’s athletic director.
Porter has coached Guthrie both on the junior high and high school staffs and has led the summer baseball program.
