Our own world renowned (one of them, anyhow) boot maker, Lisa Sorrell is applying for a Main Street Grant of $100,000 from Chase. It only takes 250 votes to be eligible for consideration to be awarded the grant. Here’s the link to where you vote for her: https://www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/b/20733 You may not be aware, but she has started a new business within Sorrell Custom Boots, called Sorrell Notions and Findings. Here, she now teaches regularly at her shop, bringing in students who eat, shop, and stay in Guthrie. She’s also selling leather and supplies, and is beginning to draw people to Guthrie to shop at her studio. This opportunity to contribute to the local economy is exciting and receiving this grant would allow her to invest more in her business. This is a picture of her daughter and a pair of shoes that she has made. Raising up generations of Guthrie Goodness! Awesome! Vote now!!!
Shrek the Musical’s last performance is this Saturday. Tickets are still available by going online to www.thepollard.org or by calling 282-2800.
