Wednesday, December 18th, Oklahoma State Bank will host the Chamber Coffee at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to this special event! Thursday, December 19th the Oklahoma Blood Institute is having a blood drive from noon to 6pm at Mercy Logan Hospital.

Did you know you can access local produce this time of year? The Oklahoma Food Co-op lists products for sale on their website; wwwoklahomafood.coop.  Some of our locals participate in this that is how I found out about it. Norma Cook and her husband live off of Post Road are a pick up site. The ordering period starts the first day of every month, closes on the second Thursday, and delivery day is always the third Thursday. On delivery day the farmers and producers deliver their products to the operations center in Oklahoma City where Co-op volunteers sort everything into customer orders. All Co-op farmers and producers are inspected using a defined set of guidelines. The Co-op encourages production practices that are healthy for consumers and the environment. Buying local reduces your environmental footprint. Buying local means supporting local businesses and keeping more dollars circulating in the state of Oklahoma.

The next two weeks should bring lots of people to Guthrie. We’ve advertised in the Enid Eagle, Stillwater News Press, Gazette, Neighbors Tulsa Area, sent out news releases to all of the radio, tv and media sources besides having Christmas commercials running two different networks. This Saturday, Dec. 14th will be the Homes Tour, Pollard Theater, Candlelight Trolley Tour, Victorian Walk, multiple school activities and the Football Playoff is during the Victorian Walk, so we won’t have the help of the High School Band and Choir. If your club, organization or church would like to stroll around and sing or play Christmas Carols, you are welcome to! You don’t have to check in with anyone, just dust off your Victorian outfits and join everyone in the festivities!
