Our Educational Series is next Tuesday, Aug. 14th from 1p.m. to 3p.m. at the OSU extension office. Cathy James will be teaching this program. The PRIDE program is targeted to front line employees that deal with the public. Topics discussed during the training include knowing your customer’s needs and expectations, offering a customer friendly environment and having customer friendly employees. The program also emphasizes having a good knowledge of the community including attractions and places to see if the training has any tourism focus. The session is not all lectures and really involves the participants. Please RSVP to me below.
The quarterly merchant meeting is scheduled for this Thursday, Aug. 9th at 8a.m. in the council chambers. All merchants are welcome to attend. This Saturday, Aug. 11th the Logan Community Services and the Kiwanis partner to hold their 17th annual golf tournament at the Cedar Valley Golf Club. Lunch will be provided along with a hole in one contest, cash and prizes along with a trip for two to Las Vegas! Call 282-5524 for more information. Also Saturday morning God’s Food Bank will be having a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8a.m. to 10:30a.m in the Farmer’s Market area. For only $5.00 per person come and enjoy pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee & juice. Have your morning breakfast while you shop the market. Come out and support our local food bank and help feed the hungry in our community.
Saturday, August 18th at 7p.m. the Guthrie Arts & Humanities Council invites you to an evening of dining, dancing, auctions and prizes. They will be celebrating their 26th “Season of Choices” at the annual Pollard Gala. The Gala will take place at Gage’s Steakhouse, 202 W. Harrison. Tickets are available by calling 282-8890.
This week’s chamber coffee will be hosted by the Oklahoma Blood Institute at Mercy Hospital Logan County in the cafeteria. August 22nd Coffee will be hosted by Dr. Dawn’s Chiropractic. Have a great week!
