The Scottish Rite Temple will have the Knights of St. Andrew reunion March 29th to April 1st. The women will be doing things around town while the men do their thing at the temple. Local restaurants could see an influx at the dinner hour throughout the weekend!

The Guthrie Noon Lions Club is all about eye glasses. This Friday the 30th they will have their annual pancake feed from 11:30 to 1:30 and 5p.m. -7p.m. at the American Legion Building on 1st and Cleveland. Call 282-2589 for takeout orders. Proceeds go to local children who need new eye glasses.
Friday evening at 5p.m. stop by the Presbyterian Fellowship Hall God’s Food Bank will have a Beans and cornbread supper, drink and dessert included for $5 from 5p.m.-8p.m. For more information call 282-1412.
Saturday, March 31st Special Olympics will have a Spaghetti Dinner. During the dinner tickets will be drawn for the 14 cash prizes and the Grand Prize of a John Deere Z225 zero turn mower, or $2000 cash prize. To participate in the ticket drawing, tickets are $50.00. Only 300 tickets are sold. Dinner for two at the Olive Garden Spaghetti dinner comes with your $50 donation. The dinner is held at Guthrie Upper Elementary from 5p.m – 7p.m. A silent auction will be available at this time as well.

There are several things going on at the Fairgrounds this weekend. Friday there will be bake show exhibits. Get Fit Logan County will have area health agencies, retailers and restaurants that will have displays and demonstrations throughout Saturday from 9a.m. until 2p.m. The first 150 visitors will receive an insulated lunch bag. Plus a Food Showdown contest modeled after the television show “Iron Chef” where Teams of 2-3 create a dish from only a clue, predetermined ingredients and a common pantry. Teams must register by March 26. There is a $12 fee per team.
Knights of Columbus at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lenten Fish Fry on March 30, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the church basement. Fish, coleslaw, potato chips, drink and dessert for $7.00. Proceeds benefit local, state and national charities!
Community Church will be hosting a Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 7 from 2p.m.-4p.m. at Mineral Wells Park. Everyone is welcome!
This week’s Chamber coffee is hosted by Turner & Son Homes located at 111 S. Division followed by a Ribbon Cutting. The Lenten Luncheon will be hosted by Community Church with preacher Hersey Hammons speaking.
