The United Way of Logan County Annual Campaign Celebration has been rescheduled from Tuesday, February 4 to Tuesday, February 11 at the Scottish Rite Temple Ball Room located at 900 E. Oklahoma Avenue. Individual seats are $15, sponsor tables of eight with recognition are $135 and sponsor recognition without table is $50. First United Methodist Church is having their annual Groundhog Dinner! Thursday, February 6th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. then 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Logan County Fairgrounds Building. Homemade sausage, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, rolls, coleslaw, and dessert is on the menu! Price is $9 for adults, $5 for 10 years old and under. No one should face Alzheimer’s alone. Often times, caregivers say they are looking for support from people who “really understand because they’ve been there, too.” An Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group offers just that–A safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to meet and develop a mutual support system. It’s a place to: -Echange practical information on caregiving problems and possible solutions -Talk through challenges and ways of coping -Share feelings, needs and concerns -Learn about resources available in your community. A group for the Guthrie/Logan County area meets together on the second Saturday of each month at Guthrie Public Library, 201 N. Division 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Free Income Tax assistance is available again this year at the Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency (COCAA) located at 219 S. Broad. First day of VITA starts on Jan. 29, 2014. You can call for appointments from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tues,Wed and Thurs. All appointments will be set for a Wednesday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Income guideline is $52k a year Adjusted Gross Income. If filing jointly, both persons must attend so can sign the return. Call for additional information, 282-4332.

This week’s Chamber Coffee is hosted by Rick’s Fine Chocolates and Coffee’s located at 109A W. Oklahoma. Everyone is welcome; we begin at 9:30 a.m. Next week’s Chamber Coffee will be hosted by Dr. Lacey Family Chiropractic located at 309 N. Division, just North of Cornwell Pharmacy, followed by a Ribbon Cutting!
