Hello! It will soon be time to do exercise your right to vote. The General Election is Tuesday, November 4th. Your deadline to request an absentee ballot is Wednesday, October 29th at 5pm. You can vote Thursday, October 30th from 8am to 6pm, Friday, October 31 from 8am to 6pm and Saturday, November 1st from November 1st from 9am to 2pm at the Logan County Election Board located at 224 E. Vilas.

A reminder that Dead Guy Daze Block Party is the 31st on Harrison and First Street at 8pm. Fox 25 will be here live this coming Wednesday morning to talk about all of our special activities going on for Halloween! There will be food, fun and music! Don’t forget to dress up you might win the costume contest! Last weekend the Pub Crawl was a success! Guthrie Haunts Scaregrounds is still packing them in. Guthrie Ghost Walk is having a special midnight Halloween walk beginning at the Apothecary Garden, $10 per person. DEAD GUY DAZE is a success!! Trick or Treating will begin in the downtown area at 4pm and end at 6pm on the 31.
Rock – A –Way Tavern, 7802 S Sooner Road, is having a Haunted Carnival Party and Costume Contest, Saturday, November 1st from 7pm to 2pm. Two hundred dollars for first prize, one hundred for second and fifty for third place! Fun, friends, food and good music!
Neighborhood Solutions is at it again. They painted a large building behind Grace Covenant Church several weeks ago using a paint grant they received. That building is currently being used to feed the homeless and working poor and also provides showers. Now they need your help, this project has been put into a competition where the public decides the winner. So if you are friend of Neighborhood Solutions and have a computer, go to http://review.wizehive.com/contests/communities-primed-for-change-contest and vote. You can view all of the before and after pictures, this project was done with forty six volunteers!
Relay for Life of Logan County is having a Bingo Night, November 1 at the fellowship hall in the First Presbyterian Church at 6:30pm. Ten dollars to play, concessions are available, great prizes and a silent auction. For questions email: Tina Heyvaert at tina4relay@yahoo.com
The Byron Berline Band will be playing at the Double Stop Music Hall, Saturday, November 1 at 7:30p.m. This is the last weekend for “Evil Dead – The Musical” presented by the Pollard Theatre, tickets are available at www.thepollard.org.
The Guthrie Art Walk is November 8 in galleries and businesses located on the bricks from 4pm to 8pm. This is the sixteen year for the Art Walk! Business participating are Aunt Gertrude’s House, Gallery Grazioso, The Pollard Theatre, The Vencedora, G Gallery & Glass Studio, Treasures & Books, Heritage Collection, Boutique 206 and Antique Gallery of Guthrie.
