Chamber Chat: Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas

Trick or Treating in the downtown area is Thursday, the 31 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  If your kids get too much candy from trick or treating, Proud Dental, 324 N. 19th Street, is buying back candy and paying $1 a pound November 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The candy will be donated to our troops and wounded warriors through operation gratitude! For a good scare check out Guthrie Haunts Scaregrounds, their last day is the 26 of this month. They are located in the old Harvey House Restaurant on Hwy 77 north of town, just right past the Cimarron Bridge. Door open at 7 p.m.

A Community Health Fair is scheduled this Thursday, Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Family Life Center. Highlights include flu shots for $20, physicians Q&A, vision screening, dental screening, blood pressure check, blood glucose check, smoking cessation, home health, therapy services, mymercy demonstration and sign ups.  There will also be a blood drive from 11 a.m. to  5p.m.

The General Daniels Thanksgiving meal is scheduled for November from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at no charge in the American Legion.  If you would like to serve our community this is a great opportunity to do so. They are looking for any kind of free entertainment and volunteer servers please contact Angie at 282-5039 and leave a message.

This year Opening Night Ceremonies which includes the Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade will be held November 30 at 6 p.m. The parade will begin at the Jr. High and end at the Post Office. If you are interested in having a car or float in parade it needs to be lit; email territorialchristmas@gmail.com or call 282-1947 if you are interested! Tickets are on sale now for the Historic Homes Tour is December 14 from 10a.m. to 4p.m. Victorian Christmas Evenings are December 14 and 21 from 5 p.m. to  9p.m.  and of course the Pollard Theatre will be showing “ A Territorial Christmas Carol”. If you would like to help in any of these festivities you can attend any of the meetings, this week they will be meeting Thursday at 6 p.m. in EnergyForce located at 115 N. 2nd.
