There are a couple of non-profits who could use some help this month: Peppers Ranch is having a Fall Festival, Sunday, October 21st, they are looking for volunteers to help host games such as pin the nose on the pumpkin, cake walk a refreshment stand, etc. Or if you would like to donate candy or cupcakes and you are welcome to come in costume.  If you can help please contact Tonya Ratcliff 919-9888.

Halloween is approaching and many people intentionally try and find a good haunted house for someone to scare the you know what out of them! Well I would recommend going to Guthrie Scaregrounds any Friday or Saturday in October from 7p.m. to midnight. Critics have rated them one of the scariest places to go this year.  For you old timers they are located at the Old Harvey Steakhouse Restaurant or 4524 Riverside Circle on Hwy 77 just north of the Cimarron River Bridge 2 miles north of Guthrie High School.
A Community Pumpkin Carving Family Event will be held outside, Monday Oct. 29th from 6p.m. to 8p.m. 123barefoot Clinic is hosting this free event, they are located at 123 South Capital Street on the corner of Capital and Harrison. Bring pumpkins and carving tools! There will be Free hotdogs, marshmallow roasting, hot cider, piñata busting, face painting, acupuncture demos, and a live DJ.

Trick or Treating will be held in the Downtown Historic area on Halloween which is a Wednesday this year from 4p.m. to 6p.m. This week’s Chamber Coffee, Wednesday Oct. 17th will be hosted by two new businesses in Guthrie: Budget Blinds and Ella Rose Boutique at the Ella Rose location, 206 E. Oklahoma. There will be two Ribbon Cuttings after the coffee! Bring your business cards we will begin at 9:30a.m. The public is welcome to attend.  Have a fantastic week, hope to see you around town!
