Also the 89er Celebration committee will meet Wednesday, January 8 at noon in the American Legion building, 123 N. 1st Street.

With the beginning of the New Year I like to remind people of the civic clubs that are available to join. There are three clubs in Guthrie; Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions. Every Monday the Rotarians meet at the Granny Had One Event Center from noon to one, their lunch is $10. Kiwanis meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6p.m. at Gages Steakhouse located in the bottom of the Victor Building, 202 W. Harrison. The Guthrie Noon Lions Club meets every Friday at noon in the American Legion.

Byron Berline has scheduled a show at the Double Stop Music Hall, January 4th at 7:30 p.m. They are located at 121 E. Oklahoma. For tickets call 282-6646.

OK, the New Year is upon us! We hope to be able to have an Arts Summit in Guthrie! The Arts in Guthrie! Having an incorporated arts community will allow all of our artists, artisans, and craftsmen to bring more attention to their work, and to begin to make a strong impact on the community. We want to include our community partners: lodging, restaurants, retailers, schools, banks, businesses, hospital & medical, city agencies, county agencies, etc. Anyone who would be impacted by an increase in tourist traffic, educational opportunities, quality of living, cultural outlets, etc. Guthrie is ready to blossom into one of the premiere arts communities in the region, and The Arts in Guthrie wants to be ready to lead the way. If you or someone you know would like to contribute your time, talent, or financial support to this endeavor, please contact the chamber and we will keep you up on all of the latest happenings!

The next Chamber Coffee is scheduled for January 8. Get Fit Guthrie and OSU Extension.
