Chief Deputy accepts position with Nicoma Park

If Sheriff Jim Bauman is re-elected next week for a second term in Logan County, he will be without the services of one of his top Deputies.

Chief Deputy Rob Groseclose confirmed he has been offered and has accepted the Police Chief position for the City of Nicoma Park.

“I am very sad on one hand to leave such an incredible group of employees, friends and an amazing Sheriff. On the other hand I am excited for the opportunity to also come back to work with another great group of my eastside family,” Groseclose said to his friends on social media.

“Rob is a strong leader that has made quite the impression on those who have had the opportunity to work with him,” Bauman said.

Groseclose, who came to the Sheriff’s Office from the Spencer Police Department, served as the Jail Administrator and Public Information Officer for the county.

“I would personally like to thank the best Sheriff Logan County has ever had. He (Bauman) has been the best boss I have ever worked for and the citizens are lucky to have him and the team he has put in place serving them,” Groseclose said.

While Groseclose looks toward the future in Nicoma Park, he will stay on board with the Sheriff’s Office through the election.

“I will be staying at least through the election to do my part in making sure that Jim Bauman stays in office.”

Major Bill Warner was announced as the new Jail Administrator.

  1. Looks like Baumans deputies are starting to jump ship already. The race isn’t over yet.

    • The opportunity that was presented to Deputy Chief Groseclose to become Chief of Police of Nicoma Park was directly related to his selfless service under the direction of Sheriff Bauman and for the citizens of Logan County. His hard work and dedication to duty, honor, & loyalty to the citizens of the great State of Oklahoma opened up an opportunity to advance in his career. I am sure that it was a very stressful and difficult decision to accept his new career but don’t think for one second he “jumped ship” if anything he has been rewarded with his “own ship” because of his selfless dedication to an outstanding leader Sheriff Jim Bauman. People of the caliber of Chief Groseclose and Sheriff Bauman are few and far between. If any one reading this post hasn’t noticed, the Bauman Administration has publicized their hard work and accomplishments for you the Citizen, the ones They swore to protect as opposed to “mud sling” and unprofessionally trash the opposing candidate. Sheriff Bauman has molded his employees into superior Peace Officers that will always become in great demand for continuos careers in Law Enforcement. If anything Sheriff Bauman can hold his head high and proud that his Deputy Chief will become Chief of Police in the State of Oklahoma. God speed Logan County Sheriff Jim Bauman, Chief Rob Groseclose, and the fantastic, hard working, selflessly dedicated team of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and I have no doubt in my mind that Sheriff Bauman will have another 4 yrs to continue his phenomenal progressive track record in keeping the lives of each and every citizen safe every single day of the week. Look at the facts, not the fiction folks. It is no easy task to be responsible for a County the Size of Logan County and you don’t become a Chief of Police of a city on accident. It takes strong leadership skills that are learned ( not studied in a book).

    • Just to give some of that factual information to share —-> LEADERSHIP and FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Here is a comparison from when Sheriff Bauman took office to the current day. Constantly we hear how much visibility has improved and how much more professional our agency is now than in times past. Sheriff Bauman puts the Citizens of Logan County first.

    • “Do we as citizens of Logan County want to go back and repeat the past?” You are not running against Randy Richardson. This is 2012 elections Sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are up against Ben Mchand and John Marshall,

    • I don’t know about anyone else but I know I don’t want to repeat the past 4 years. I know I don’t want a Sheriff that has a set of laws for one group and another set of laws for another group. I want a Sheriff I can trust. I don’t want a Sheriff that is absent until 4 months before the election. I want a Sheriff that has a such a positive presence in the community that everyone knows and respects him. I honestly didn’t know the Sheriffs name until those ridiculous, obviously racist raids. All I knew is that Richardson wasn’t Sheriff anymore. I also knew that Sheriff Richardson would have never behaved in such a sleazy way. I personally don’t care who the Sheriff is as long as it’s not Jim Bauman. He’s a snake.

  5. Why Sheriff Bauman block people from posting and delete their replies if he is so accountable and transparent?

  6. Rob was a good sheriff and a nice guy so he will probably give Mr. Bauman a job if it doesn’t go his way on Tuesday.

  7. How is that sinking ship looking now???
