City awarded energy grant for various buildings

The City of Guthrie has been awarded an $89,948.78 Energy Efficiency Lighting Retrofit Program Grant from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

Human Resources and Administrative Services Director Liz Botello led the project for the City.

The grant award will pay for retrofitting the following city facilities with LED Lighting, including City Hall, Police Department, Public Works Complex, Fire Department, and the Airport.

The City is projecting to save $26,247 on the annual electric bill.

In addition, the City will see a one-time OG&E rebate of $37,833.
