With the recent announcement of Sheri Mueller resigning her post as a Ward 3 councilmember, the City of Guthrie is now accepting applications to fill her role.
To be eligible for office of Councilmen of the City of Guthrie, a person must be a citizen of the United States of America, and of the State of Oklahoma, be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, be a registered voter, be a resident of the ward if the office is from a ward, and be a resident of an area which has been annexed to a and has become part of the City for two (2)years immediately preceding the General election.
Last October, Mueller was nominated by Mayor Chuck Burtcher’s and was unanimously approved (5-0).
Mueller, who resigned her post after changing residences out of her ward, replaced Ellen Gomes who resigned on September 8.
The Ward 3 seat is set to expire in May 2015.
