The City of Guthrie recently began an initiative to revitalize neighborhoods through public participation in beautification efforts, specifically, through removal of trash along City streets and roadways.
Organizations and volunteer groups are invited to adopt a minimum of one mile of roadway and perform trash pickup at least four times a year for two years, including a cleanup during the annual Trash-Off in April.
The City of Guthrie provides trash bags and lends bright safety vests to participants during scheduled cleanups, and will recognize the group or organization with signs along the adopted stretch of roadway.
