Commissioners begin new fiscal year with scheduled meeting

The Board of County Commissioners met for the second straight day on Wednesday morning. The meeting represented the first of the 2015-16 fiscal year resulting in the signing of several documents.

All three commissioners (Marven Goodman, Mike Pearson and Monty Piearcy) were present along with County Clerk Troy Cole.

The commissioners unanimously agreed on all 16 agenda items in the 86-minute meeting.

The approved agenda included:

– Financial statement of the Resale Property Fund

– Monetary compensation for overtime hours in the Election Board

– Establishing Logan County Investment Policy for fiscal year (FY) 2015-16

– Designating depository banks for FY 2015-16

– Depositing juvenile transportation fees into Sheriff’s Fee Cash account for FY 2015-16

– Approved application for Temporary Appropriations for the General Fund for FY 2015-16

– Entered an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with the City of Guthrie for tree trimming and removal in right-of-way along E. Prairie Grove Rd. between Division and Pine.

– Accepted a $500 donation from Arcadia Heights Home Owners Association to District #2 for purchase of shale to be placed on Arcadia Heights Dr.

– Approved Dept. of Transportation claims in the amounts of $38,630.73 and $41633.27 for Logan County Rural Water Dist. #1 relocation of utilities for Coltrane Rd. project.

– Signed a letter to the Office of Juvenile Affairs stating that Logan County will make efforts to collect reimbursement of costs for juvenile detention housing.

– Renewed the contract with Cintas Corp. for uniforms for Dist. #2 for FY 2015-16.

– Approved the renewing lease purchase agreements with Warren Power and Machinery for six units for Dist. #2 for the FY 2015-16.

– Appointed Requisitioning and Receiving Officers for various accounts.
