Council members and citizens fill out boards and committees

With the 63rd Guthrie city council now completing two council meetings, the elected officials have nearly filled all appointments to the various boards and commissions for the City of Guthrie.

The Citizen’s Rate and Fee Advisory Committee was seated with one open seat still remaining. Each council member nominated a citizen to serve on the committee. Mayor Steve Gentling nominated current member Tina Heyvart, Brian Bothroyd (Ward II) selected Lauri White, Sharyl Padgett (Ward III) selected current member Andrea Welsh and John Wood (Ward I) picked Jim Case.

Ed Wood (Ward II) deferred his selection until the next council meeting.

Gentling was appointed to the Convention and Visitor Bureau board.

John Wood was re-appointed to the Vice-mayor position.

Bothroyd was added to the Finance Committee and Transportation Authority Board.

Ed Wood was added to the Street Committee and the Historic Preservation Commission. Citizens Amy Loch and Doug Powell were also added to the Preservation Commission.

Council member Gaylord Z. Thomas was appointed to the City’s alternative representative to the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments Board of Directors, the Intermodal Transportation Policy Committee, the Garber Wellington Policy Committee and the 911 Association Board of Directors. Gentling was named the alternate.

Citizen Nicki Kesler was voted to the Library Board, Ed French to the Planning Commission, Roberta Burns and Michael Friese to the Forestry Board and Randy Ellis and Tim Poindexter to the Park Board.
