Couple arrested after allegedly allowing 11-year-old to smoke meth

A Guthrie couple were handed down felony charges, including child neglect, after it was reported they allowed a juvenile to smoke methamphetamine.

Det. Greg Valencia says on July 8, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office was informed Kirsten Allissa Burrows, 18, and Michael Andrew Crick, 21, were supposed to take Burrows’ 11 year old step-brother to the skate park on the west side of town on July 7.

However, instead of going to the park, Burrows and Crick took the juvenile male to an undisclosed residence in Guthrie. While at the residence, Crick and Burrows allowed him to smoke methamphetamine.

According to a report,”they told him to come into the bathroom with them” and, once inside, “one of them handed him a glass pipe with white stuff in it, and one of them held a lighter to it and he smoked it.”

It also stated, the boy told police it was meth and “smoking the meth made him feel funny like he wanted to get up and do stuff and kind of dizzy too.”

Valencia says a search warrant was then served at Crick and Burrows’ residence. Drug paraphernalia and a small amount of drugs were found during the search of the residence.

Both suspects were located, arrested and booked into the Logan County jail on July 9.

They were formally charged in the Logan County Courthouse on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect.

They were each given a $20,000 bond.
