The Oklahoma Coaches Association allows a maximum of two players from one school to be chosen for their all-state team. In the 2014 season, the Guthrie football program maxed out their all-state capabilities.

Seniors L’liott Curry and Beau Davis were named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) All-State football team on Tuesday.

In addition to being named to the OCA team, Curry was earlier named to The Oklahoman’s Big All-City Defensive Player and All-State teams as well as the Player of the Year for District 5A-2.

The wide receiver and defensive end was huge on both sides of the ball for the BlueJays. The play maker finished with 50 catches for 802 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense, where teams often avoided running the ball to his side, collected 67 tackles, one interception and a team high 13 sacks.

Davis, who was named the Defensive Player of the Year for 5A-2, was the inside anchor that held BlueJay opponents to just 40 yards rushing, finished his senior campaign with a team high 137 tackles along with a sack and interception. For his career, Davis finished with 332 tackles and eight sacks.

Both will be part of the East squad that will play against the East in the 2015 All-State football game on July 31, part of the OCA’s annual convention in Tulsa.
