Driver ejected, stranded for eight hours along county road

A Medford man was ejected from his vehicle early Wednesday morning and went unnoticed until several hours later in northern Logan County.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., a 1999 Ford F-150 driven by Arthur Lewis Jones, 31, was westbound on County Road 59, a dry gravel road, near the town of Orlando.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states Jones was traveling at a high rate of speed, departed the roadway left, struck the ditch, crossed back over the roadway and struck the right ditch, rolled one time and finally coming to rest on its wheels in the roadway.

He was not found and reported until later that afternoon at 1:27 p.m.

The cause of collision was reported as too fast for conditions.

Jones was ejected approximately 30 feet from his vehicle and was transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center in stable condition with head, arm, leg and trunk internal and external injuries.
