Two people were killed Thursday morning in a collision involving a Jeep and a commercial motor vehicle at State Highway 33 and South Broadway in Logan County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Sept. 3.
Troopers said a 2007 Jeep driven by 70-year-old Elizabeth A. Rozon of Edmond was traveling north on South Broadway and attempting to turn east onto Highway 33 when it was struck on the driver’s side by a 2008 International commercial motor vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 33.
The impact caused the Jeep to roll.
Rozon and her passenger, 64-year-old Jenny L. Killough of Oklahoma City, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. OHP reported both occupants were wearing seat belts.
The commercial vehicle was driven by 48-year-old Ralph T. Wallace of Crescent. OHP listed Wallace as not injured in the collision but reported he was transported to Mercy Hospital in Guthrie.
According to OHP’s collision report, Wallace was investigated for impaired driving following the crash. The report does not state whether he was arrested or cited, and the investigation does not by itself establish that impairment caused the collision.
Next of kin for the two victims has been notified.
The fatal collision was investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
