Dumas sprinting toward his future

Fresh off another state championship, Chaunsey Dumas is now looking toward the future and his college career.

Chaunsey Dumas recently took a trip to the University of Oklahoma and visited the Sooners track and field team.

The Class 5A 200 meter state champion recently took a visit to the University of Oklahoma this past Tuesday.

“He was able to hang out with the team while the coach and I talked,” his mother Stella Dumas said.

“It was a very nice visit and a great opportunity.  We will just have to wait and see what Chaunsey decides.”

Chaunsey Dumas was a member of four state championship teams (two each in track and basketball) during his high school career. In addition to his 200 meter championship, he was a member of the 4 x 100 relay championship team.

The athletic Dumas joined forces with Emmanuel Robinson, Alphonso Wilcots, and Dustin Bohanan and set a school record (41.77) in the 4 x 100 and was the state’s second quickest time.

The Sooners’ John Jacobs Track and Field Complex has hosted the U.S. Olympic Festival, two NCAA Regional Championships and a pair of conference championships, and qualified 20 athlete’s for the 2010 NCAA’s.
