Early morning fire destroys mobile home

Electrical issues may be the cause of an early Tuesday morning fire that destroyed a Guthrie home.

Guthrie Fire and EMS were dispatched just before 12:30 a.m. to a single-wide mobile home fire located at 9013 Oakwood Drive which is located just off of Forrest Hills Road.

When fire crews from Oak Cliff, Sooner and Guthrie arrived the home was three-quarters engulfed.

There was no one home at the time of the fire.

According to fire officials, crews have responded to this location twice in the past couple weeks with electrical fires.

There is not city water or hydrants in the area so the Sooner Fire Department helped bring in tanker water to put out the fire.

With the recent rains, the dirt based roads on Forrest Hills were being classified as dangerous for the big fire vehicles and all were warned to be cautious while en route.
