Guthrie man arrested following overnight shooting; 911 calls released

Update on Feb. 3 at 2:30 p.m. — Justin Wallage was arraigned on three charges, including shooting with intent to injure, inside the Logan County Courthouse following the shooting over the weekend.

Wallage appeared in from of a judge, via video, and received a $10,000 bail. He is set to be back in court on April 23.

Along with shoot to intent, Wallage was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Justin WallageUpdate Saturday at 3:15 p.m. — A Guthrie man has been arrested after an early morning shooting on Guthrie’s west side.

The shooter, Justin James Wallage, 29, was arrested for assault and battery with a deadly weapon. He currently sits in custody at the Logan County Jail.

“It is anticipated that additional charges will be filed as the investigation continues by the Guthrie Police Department, with assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations,” a press release from the police department said.

The shooting victim is listed in serious condition following surgery.

An overnight shooting on Guthrie’s west side has sent one person to the hospital. Now, investigators are trying to find out exactly what happen.

Shooting 01312015Just after 3 a.m. on Saturday, Guthrie police officers responded to 1323 W. Washington after a person called 911 advising he had been shot in the leg.

A second 911 call was also made. That caller was the shooter and said they were defending themselves after being attacked with a knife.

Police have talked to one person and attempting to speak with another individual who may have been a witness to the accident.

So far there have not been any arrests with the shooting.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations has been called in to assist.

At 6:30 a.m., investigators were in the process of obtaining a search warrant.

Guthrie News Page is told the shooting victim, who was transported to OU Medical in Oklahoma City, does not have life threatening injuries.
