The Guthrie Fire Department, along with Oak Cliff and Cashion, were dispatched to W. Camp Rd. (just west of Broadway) for a garage fire that was fully involved as crews arrived on the scene.

Firefighters quickly began pouring water onto the metal structure.

The intense heat and flames was dangerously close to the elderly couples’s home as the wind pushed the black smoke over their home.

Family members were seen running to the rescue of the couple, who were able to get out of the home.

Fire crews needed about 90 minutes to completely knock the fire down.

Batallion Chief Greg Machtolff says the cause of the fire appears to have been an electrical fault at the service panel.

Several lawn mowers and a large amount of tools were destroyed in the blaze.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.
