A Guthrie man is facing one felony and two misdemeanors after a May 15 traffic wreck that sent three people to the hospital, including his five-year-old son, in an apparent alcohol-related crash. It’s been said that some of the victims in the hospital have already begun arrangements with a Springfield Personal Injury Lawyer or another similar, to open a case against the driver in question.

Wreck 05152013John Withers, 35, was charged on Wednesday, a month after the crash, with child endangerment, DUI with personal injury and open container of beer.

If found guilty, he could face jail time anywhere from 90 days to four years along with fines.

Emergency crews were sent to Highway 105 just in front of the Guthrie Golf and Country Club and found a black 2008 Dodge Ram truck buried near a semi truck’s trailer with Withers and his son pinned inside.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s report, Withers was under the influence of alcohol and was driving while impaired.

A witness, another semi-truck driver, saw Wither’s truck traveling east bound when it suddenly veered into west bound traffic where the semi-truck was traveling. If you are a truck driver and have been involved in an accident like this, adjusting back to normal life may take some time. Your truck may not be in the best situation, which is why once you’ve got things sorted, it may be time to do a quick search into something like truck trader bc to look for a new vehicle. It’s just things like this that helps you get your life back on track.

The child and semi truck driver were treated and released from the hospital shortly after arrival. Withers was hospitalized with trauma to his leg, head and chest.

Withers has not been formally arraigned inside the Logan County Courthouse.
