Earlier this week Gov. Mary Fallin and state emergency management officials added Logan County to a list of now 25 counties seeking federal assistance for the heavy rains and flooding in May.
The announcement came on Wednesday with Fallin requesting assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for infrastructure repairs and other storm-related expenses.
Northern Logan County (District 3) took the biggest hit in the county with damages to bridges and roads.
Public assistance makes federal funding available to municipalities, counties and rural electric cooperatives for repairs and costs associated with the storms.
Portions of District 1 and City of Guthrie may also qualify for assistance.
If approved, FEMA could pay up to 75 percent, the state 12.5 percent and the county 12.5 percent of repaired costs.
Logan County did not qualify for individual assistance, which would have helped housing repairs.
